In July 2018 he was appointed to lead the most ambitious project on earth – NEOM. Nadhmi A. Al-Nasr embarked on his career at Saudi Aramco in 1978 following his graduation from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals. Initially in engineering services, he transitioned to overseeing the Kingdom’s Master Gas System, a groundbreaking project. Balancing time between Houston and the Uthmaniyah Gas Plant, he played a key role until its completion in 1984. Al-Nasr then contributed to various refinery projects, culminating in his promotion to Project Manager for Ghawar oil field capital programs. Notably, he led the successful 1991 crude expansion program, which concluded in 1993. Progressing in his career, Al-Nasr assumed the role of Manager for Saudi Aramco’s oil and gas pipeline projects. In 1995, he took charge of the Shaybah Development Program in the challenging Rub’ al-Khali desert. Remarkably, the Shaybah mega-project was operational ahead of schedule and under budget in 1998, standing as a testament to Al-Nasr's leadership and Saudi Aramco's success.
