Moutaz Al-Khayyat: founder and chairman of Power International Holding, UCC

Moutaz Al-Khayyat is a visionary entrepreneur and the founder and chairman of Power International Holding, a diverse conglomerate that includes UCC, Qatar's largest dairy, Baladna QPSC, and Estithmar Holding QPSC. Under his leadership, UCC has emerged as a regional powerhouse in contracting, recognized among the top 120 firms globally. The company has successfully completed numerous large-scale projects in Qatar and beyond, including the iconic Banana Island and the Mall of Qatar. A graduate with a BA (Hons) in Global Business from the University of the West of Scotland, Moutaz began his career as a board member of Al Khayyat Contracting and Trading, founded by his father in 1983. He became CEO in 2010, steering the company into one of Qatar’s leading construction firms. In 2011, he co-founded UrbaCon Trading & Contracting (UCC), which quickly gained a reputation for excellence. Moutaz gained international recognition during the Qatar Diplomatic Crisis when he orchestrated the airlift of 4,000 dairy cows to sustain local production. This initiative led to Baladna’s growth into a major dairy producer, culminating in a successful IPO in 2019. Today, Moutaz oversees over 40 companies spanning various sectors, including healthcare, real estate, and hospitality.
