Mohamed Eletreby, Chairman of Banque Misr"

Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby is a prominent banker with a long-standing experience of more than 35 years in the banking sector. Before joining Banque Misr, he served as the CEO and Managing Director of Egyptian Gulf Bank from January 2013 to December 2014. Mr. El-Etreby kickstarted his banking journey in 1977 at Arab African International Bank (AAIB) and later at Crédit International d’Egypte Bank. In 1983, he joined Misr International Bank (MIBank, now Qatar National Bank Alahli), where he spent more than 22 years in various senior roles, gaining extensive expertise across key banking areas. In September 2005, he became the Vice Chairman and Board Member of Egyptian Arab Land Bank. He later served as the Managing Director of Arab Investment Bank in 2009 and returned to Egyptian Arab Land Bank as Chairman in 2011. Recognized for his outstanding accomplishments, Mr. El-Etreby was appointed Chairman of Egyptian Gulf Bank in 2013 and subsequently named Chairman of Banque Misr in January 2015. He also holds the position of Chairman at Banque Misr Liban (BML). Mr. El-Etreby earned a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Ain Shams University in 1976.
