Batterjee, president and chief executive officer, Saudi German Hospitals Group

Sobhi Batterjee is the founding president and CEO of the Saudi German Hospitals Group, a developer and operator of hospitals in the kingdom. The group builds its own hospitals and finances the schemes with the support of government and development banks. Batterjee graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Kansas in the US in 1972. He completed a master’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of Colorado in the US in 1973. The Saudi German Hospitals Group was formed in 1988 by the Batterjee family. The group currently has about 3,000 employees and is growing by one hospital and 500 staff a year. Batterjee is also chairman of the National Health Committee at the National Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh, as well as chairman of the Jeddah Health Committee at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce.
